CAPER 2022 EVENT

The 20th annual Carden Arbor View School CAPER was a huge success!  On Saturday, May 21, 2022 we  raised over $144,000 for the school including the raffle for a tuition voucher.  Thank you for participating in our live and silent auctions and the tuition raffle.

We could not have had this success without our amazing sponsors including the DeBruyne Family, the Castillo Family, Chino Valley Ranchers, The Nichols Family, The Resser Family, Face N Body Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery, the Park Family, the Helsius Family, The Cho-Chang Family, Velocity Truck Rental and the Deon Family. Thank you too for all the teacher sponsorships.  

Thanks to our amazing CAPER 2022 committee, their time,  creativity, tireless efforts and enthusiasm are so appreciated!

The evening included an immersive murder mystery entertainment party! A party where guests dressed up to match the old Hollywood era. We all worked together throughout the night to solve a fictitious murder that took place during the party, all while raising funds for our school! It was an exiting and a fun night for all!

 

Raffle for A Tuition Voucher
This year's raffle included a tuition voucher in the amount of $4,040 (in honor of our 40th Anniversary) for one student for the 2022-23 academic year. We sold 120 tickets therefore, there were two winning tickets that were announced at the  end of the evening at the event.  The winners were the Hernandez Family and the Maharaj Family.  Congratulations to you!

  • Silent Auction open for bidding. Silent auction closes at 8:00 p.m. for all bidding on items.
  • You may purchase raffle tickets for tuition voucher opportunity at the event until 9 :00 p.m. Raffle tickets purchased at the event will be placed in the raffle draw at the event at 10:00 p.m. 
  • Live Auction opens for bidding at the event 8:45 p.m. 
  • Raffle winners pulled and announced at 10:00 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. at the live event. 


COVID-19 Considerations. Please note, many items in this auction are experiences or events that will need to be planned with the donor or CAVS in advance. Due to current guidelines, some experiences will need to be planned once the experience is permitted. If tickets for an event are cancelled due to Covid-19, the winning bidder will be entitled to a full refund. The health and safety of our students, families and staff are our top priority. We appreciate your understanding. All experiences and school opportunities must be completed by December 2022 unless otherwise planned with CAVS Staff or Faculty. View items individually or browse by category to acquaint yourself with all of the fabulous experiences, baskets, wine, home items and so much more!  Once you have registered your credit card you will be able to start bidding from anywhere using your computer, smartphone, or tablet.  Text message notifications will update you on all your bids, so be sure to check your phones for important notifications.  Good luck and thank you for supporting the students at Carden Arbor View School.

Auction item Pick-Up

Auction items must be picked up from the CAVS Advancement Office located at 784 Aster Street, Upland, CA  91786 with the exception of the Grade Level Class entries that will be on display at the live event on May 21, 2022.  Those items can be taken home that evening after payments are processed.  The CAPER Committee will contact winners to make arrangements for item pick-up beginning Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Should shipping or delivery be required, the winner is responsible for all associated costs. Thank you for your support!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

 

1.  When does the silent auction close?

The silent auction will close on Saturday, May 21 at 8:00 p.m.  A select number of items in the 100 category will be closed at various times on Saturday night.  Watch for text message notifications regarding scheduled closings.

2.  Is a credit card required to participate in the silent auction?

Yes, a pre-registered credit card is required to begin bidding and to register for event tickets or sponsorships.  Payments will be processed to the credit card on file on Monday, May 23, 2022.  If you would like to complete a payment through another method, (i.e. check) please contact Mrs DiMarco at [email protected]

3.  How  can I keep active  and know if I am outbid or have won an item?

You will be notified via text if you have been outbid.  Keep an eye on your favorite items!  If you are NOT receiving text message notifications, make sure you have the correct phone number listed in your profile.  Text messages will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached the maximum bid.  When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message for any item(s) you have won.

4.  What happens if I do not pay for item(s) I win?

All balances must be paid in full before item(s) can be collected by the winning bidder.  Items left unpaid after seven days will be sold to the next highest bidder. 

5.  How will I collect my winnings?

The winner must pick-up item(s) from the CAVS Advancement Office, located at 784 Aster Street, Upland, CA 91786.  All items can be picked up beginning Tuesday, May 24, 2022 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Should shipping or delivery be required, the winner is responsible for all associated costs.  All auction winners will be contacted by the CAPER 2022 committee within one week of auction close and provided detailed instructions for item collection.  

6.  Are there any items that are not eligible for shipping?

Yes, items including alcohol are not eligible for shipping, regardless of the winner's location.

Each bidder agrees to these auction rules:

  • All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. 
  • All items are being offered "as is".  Carden Arbor View School has tried to describe and catalog the items by obtaining descriptions from the donors. Carden Arbor View School neither warrants nor represents, and is in no way responsible for, the correctness, genuineness, authenticity or authorship of the description, or the value of any item. No statement made in this online auction, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation or assumption of liability. 
  • Values for each item are determined by the donor or by an estimate at fair market value and are not warrantied by Carden Arbor View School for tax or any other purpose.  The amount of a bidder's contribution that is tax deductible is limited to the excess of the bid and purchase price over fair market value.  The School is not responsible for any taxes found owing on any purchases. Please consult a tax professional. Please pay careful attention to all conditions, restrictions, and expiration dates on items and services.  Unless otherwise noted, all auction items and services must be used within one year.  No extensions on expirations will be granted. 
  • We appreciate your observance of these restrictions, as future donations depend on it. The winning bidder is responsible for contacting the donor to redeem items and/or services, and for acknowledging exclusions, time limitations, and requirements stated on gift certificates or item listing.
  • Packages containing alcohol will not be shipped and must be picked up by an individual 21 + years of age with a valid ID.  You must be at least 21 years old to purchase any packages containing alcohol and/or tours of alcoholic establishments (wineries, brewery etc.) 
  • Each winning bidder agrees that any and all payments to School for any item shall be considered solely to be an unrestricted charitable contribution to School and that School will not be obligated under any circumstances to refund any such amounts paid for any reason.
  • The winner must pick up item(s) on event night at Redhill Country Club or Carden Arbor View School at 784 Aster Street, Upland, CA 91786 (Advancement Office) after 3:30 pm beginning Tuesday, May 24, 2022.Please make arrangements with Ms. DiMarco for any shipping arrangements.  
  • Carden Arbor View School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.  Any item(s) left unclaimed after 30 days, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to to promote the School's exempt purpose. Carden Arbor View School reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.
  • By purchasing, the winning bidder, on his or her behalf and on behalf of his or her heirs, estate, or assignees, (i) waives any claim for liability against Carden Arbor View School and its employees and agents and (ii) agrees that the Carden Arbor View School and its agents, elected and appointed board of trustees or administrators, members, and employees,  the auctioneers, the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors and/or volunteers connected with the auction are not responsible for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from the utilization of the property or services sold.

COVID -19 STATEMENT


COVID-19 -Please note, many items in the CAPER 2022 auction are experiences or events that will need to be planned with the donor or CAVS in advance.  If tickets for an event are cancelled, due to COVID -19, a refund will be offered to the bidder. We appreciate your understanding but the health and safety of our students, families and staff are the highest priority.

 While at the in person event, the School may require proof of vaccine or may require a mask to be worn.  Requirements will be dependent on County and state mandates on the event date.
